tales from afar… pt. 1
soo been on a crazy travel schedule the past few weeks for work. getting to catch up with a lot of friends along the way though! anyhow here are some random cell phone flicks, that i’ve been fortunate enough to remember to take! haha
things started out in halifax. good ol’ jason wadley & curtis rothney @proskates.

next i ended up in the great lakes/toronto area.
jammed a session at sud skates… kinda wish i scoped out the park before paying and going in to skate it… those buckets are for water…
the ramp was jank as hell…
then to toronto!
it’s pretty sad that a restaurant needs to put this in their bathroom! what the heck are people doing?!?!
ended up hanging out with this girl sabrina at U of T and we fed these baby mice to the reptiles!!! stoooked! she was a babe.

now i’m in victoria, british colombia. an africano & the new monocle. we’ll see where things go from here!

guizer sent me this one… wow, pretty hyped. a lot of the same emotions and feelings that i get everyday are captured so well throughout this flick. pretty powerful stuff…
everybody is a __________. that’s just it right? that’s where we’re at these days, is it not? there’s no doubt that in today’s digital era, there is bound to be a sea of mediocracy. shit straight up kinda sucks! but are you going to be that negative nancy that’s going to sit there and just complains about this sort of stuff, while it all continues to evolve around you? seriously, in today’s diy landscape, you gotta go get it! no joke, what’s available to us now, is a beautiful thing. while this whole movie really spoke to me in a variety of ways, one thing that really struck me was sort of the influence of execution. at about 1 hour 7 – 10 minutes into the movie, multiple interviewees described the sensation of a well executed and connected live experience. it’s dedicated passion that truly sells (figuratively) and seeps through that aforementioned vast ocean.
there are soo many facets that this flick beautifully touches on. in my opinion, this is truly THE movie that documents the story of this decade. it’s an absolutely incredible watch for the creative mind, and it can be bought here for anyone looking to support these swedish film makers… where will you be in 10 years when you look back on everything? thanks for sending me this bad boy gui!
ps. moby & seth godin are two very bald white males. they’re also bloody geniuses.

soo hong kong just got a brand new skatepark…
i am actually watering at the mouth right now looking at this. besides this place and the po kong village skatepark…(that has been built for like a year now, but isn’t available for skating because the rest of the park is built up just yet), hk is going to be a heaven for transition skateboarding.

in the biggest news yet, i will hopefully be trekking out and shooting a wedding in japan this year, as my boy pulv is now engaged to the beautiful hana saito!!! soooo stoooked!
the last time i was in japan he was talking about putting a ring on it! since then, they have survived multiple earthquakes and a tsunami and are now about to tie the knot. could not be more stoked on any couple, more than i am for these two! gotta get back there soon!

on the road again…
over the next three weeks, i’ll be traveling across canada for work. got the g12 with me and will be snapping away! vietnam for about a month after that!
